For many years now our own congressman, Frank Pallone, has been championing progressive causes including the environment, social equality, women's rights and other and social issues.
He strongly supported President Obama's health plan, but he strongly opposed the war in Iraq. The way I see it, Pallone has the right stuff and..... frankly speaking, we need 400 Pallones in Congress.
Today, I am pleased to announce the endorsement of US Congressman Frank Pallone.
Here is what Pallone had to say in endorsing me:
"For the past four years Rashid Burney has been an agent of change in Plainfield. He has brought transparency to City Hall, engaged the community through his Citizens Committees and has fought to contain rising property taxes.
Burney is a team player but will act in the best interest of Plainfield.
In 2007 he showed foresight when he endorsed Obama early, and Burney went on to become a delegate for Obama.
Today I am proud to endorse Burney for another four-year term as Councilman in Plainfield."
